Bologna Set Sights on Lyon Midfielder

Orel Mangala, the Belgian defensive midfielder, made a move from Nottingham Forest to Lyon last summer for €23.4 million. However, he has yet to cement a place in the starting lineup of the French side. The reason lies in injuries that plagued the player during the second half of the campaign. As a result, the 28-year-old rarely featured at full capacity. Realizing that the role of a key figure at Lyon remains out of reach for now, Mangala is considering a club change this summer. Italian side Bologna has intensified its scouting efforts and is exploring ways to bring the player into their ranks. The footballer himself is open to a new challenge. This season, Mangala has made 12 appearances (494 minutes).
