Baroni once again led Verona

Marco Baroni has officially returned to the position of head coach of Verona. The Italian specialist will lead the team, which will compete in Serie B in the 2026/27 season and aim to return to the elite division. Baroni's contract with "jalloblu" runs until the summer of 2028 with the possibility of an extension for one more season. At the end of his playing career, he played for the club in 1995–1998, and in the 2023/24 season he was already leading the team as a head coach. Baroni then led Verona to 13th place in Serie A, the club's best finish in several years. After that, the coach worked in Lazio and Torino, and now he returns to the club with which he has a long history. Verona finished 19th in Serie A last season and were relegated to the second division. The management of the club expects that an experienced specialist will help the team quickly return to the elite of Italian football. Baroni has already won two promotions in his coaching career, leading Benevento and Lecce to Serie A. He will officially start his duties in Verona on July 1.
