The striker of the Norwegian national team, Erling Holland, received the award for the best player of the match of the second round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup against Senegal. The match is over
The 25-year-old forward became the main hero of the meeting, scoring a double. Thanks to this, Holland brought his scoring record at the tournament to four goals in two matches.
In addition, the Manchester City striker set several achievements at once. He became the first Norwegian footballer to score in two consecutive World Cup matches, as well as the first player since Harry Kane at the 2018 World Cup to score at least two goals in each of his two opening matches at the tournament.
In total, as part of the national team, Holland has already scored 59 goals in 52 matches.
The victory over Senegal allowed Norway to advance to the play-offs of the World Cup early. In the final round of the group stage, the Norwegians will play against France for the first place in Quartet I. Currently, both teams have six points.
