Kovalets left Metalurg

Metalurg officially announced the end of cooperation with head coach Serhiy Kovalets. The parties decided to terminate the agreement by mutual consent after summarizing the results of the season. The specialist thanked the club's management, fans and footballers for their joint work, stressing that all agreements between the parties had been fulfilled. Separately, Kovalets noted the dedication of the players who continue to work and perform in difficult conditions. The coach also congratulated the U-19 team on the victory in the Regional League and expressed his belief that young footballers are the future of Zaporizhzhia football. Serhiy Kovalets headed Metalurg in January 2026. At the end of the campaign, the team took the last, 16th place in the First League and lost their registration in the division, being relegated to the Second League.
