There is still no date for a CAS-Jacobs hearing in Mudryk's case

0
talkSPORT's Ben Jacobs reports that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has yet to set a date for a hearing on Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk's appeal. We will remind you that the Football Association of England (FA) previously decided on a 4-year disqualification of a Ukrainian football player after a positive meldonium doping test. This maximum penalty was challenged by the player's side at CAS. According to Jacobs, the process is currently in the preparatory stage: the parties must agree on the format of the case - a single arbitrator or a panel of three arbitrators. They also submit written explanations, after which the CAS can set a hearing date. "At the time of recording the podcast, CAS has not yet set a date for the hearing. After the written materials are submitted, then the format and date will be determined," the journalist noted. He also added that depending on the complexity, the process could take several more weeks or even months. In December 2024, meldonium was found in Mudryk's body. In total, he played 73 matches for Chelsea, in which he scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists. The Ukrainian last appeared on the field at the end of November 2024 in the Conference League match against Heidenheim (2:0), where he scored a goal.
