USA head coach Mauricio Pochettino could be handed a new long-term contract after the team's successful 2026 World Cup home run. This was reported by talkSPORT.
According to the source, the US Soccer Federation has already offered the 54-year-old Argentine specialist a new four-year deal. If the parties reach a final agreement, Pochettino will work with the national team at least until the end of the 2030 World Cup cycle.
It is also noted that the new contract may include the opportunity for the coach to lead the American team in the football tournament of the 2028 Olympic Games, which will be held in Los Angeles.
Previously, Pochettino had previous contacts with Milan, but the Italian club ended up betting on Ruben Amorim.
A final decision on a new contract with the US national team is expected after the World Cup, while the US Soccer Federation is currently refraining from official comment.
