Weghorst changed Ajax to Twente

Ajax and Netherlands national team striker Wout Weghorst will officially continue his career in Twente. The press service of the club from Enschede informed about the transfer. The 33-year-old forward will join the new team on July 1 as a free agent after the end of his contract with Ajax. With Twente, the footballer signed an agreement for two seasons - until the end of June 2028. Weghorst played for Ajax from the summer of 2024. In the 2025/26 season, he played 34 matches in all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing four assists. The striker was also included in the application of the Netherlands national team for the 2026 World Cup, but did not play a single match in the group stage. In total, as part of the national team, Weghorst played 52 matches and scored 14 goals.
