The 23-year-old winger of Athletics and the Spanish national team, Nico Williams, published a statement on Instagram regarding the injury received in the match against Uruguay (1:0) at the 2026 World Cup. The football player arrived at the tournament with a hamstring injury, but was substituted at the end of the match. The Spanish winger did not hide his emotions and reacted sharply to the opponent's actions. In his statement, the football player described a difficult period that has been going on for a year and a half: "Today is one of the worst days of my life. I got injured again after a very difficult year... It's been a year and a half of suffering, sadness and uncertainty. I got over it, but now I'm injured again... But I won't stop and I'll keep fighting," said Williams. He also thanked the fans for their support and emphasized that he plans to return to the field as soon as possible.
