The striker of the England national team, Harry Kane, shared his impressions after the third round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup. The ball scored in this match allowed the forward to set a new national team record for the number of goals at the World Cup.
Kane has surpassed Gary Lineker's record, taking his World Cup scoring tally to 11 goals.
"It's definitely something to be proud of. I said even before the tournament that the World Cup is the most important tournament we participate in as professional footballers, so to score 11 goals is really proud. It's always hard to believe.
I just want to enjoy this moment with the team, enjoy the fact that we are at the top of the table. I never take such moments for granted. It's another great event and I hope it's not the last in this tournament," Kane said.
Thanks to the victory over Panama, the England team took first place in Group L and entered the playoffs of the World Cup.
