Kyiv Obolon will not play home matches in the Ukrainian Premier League until October 2026 and will play exclusively on the road. This was reported by the press service of the club.
The reason for this decision is the large-scale reconstruction of the football field at the Obolon Arena, which is being completely renovated for the first time in more than 20 years.
Complex replacement of the playing surface is underway at the stadium. The new field will be equipped with modern systems of drainage, automatic watering and electric heating. Already at the beginning of August, the start of hydroseeding is planned, which will become one of the key stages of the formation of a new lawn.
The club noted that the return to the home arena is expected in October 2026.
"It is because of the reconstruction that Obolon will start the 2026/27 season on the road. We plan to return to our home arena already in October - on a new lawn that will meet the most modern standards of the Ukrainian Premier League," the club said in a statement.
Thus, the first home match for the brewers after their return will be a match against Kryvbas within the 8th round of the UPL. The base date of the game is October 10.
On the eve of Obolon, they also talked about the signing of midfielder Dmytro Myshnyov. The 32-year-old football player became the club's first rookie in the summer off-season and will play under the 15th game number.
