Enzo Maresca is officially the manager of Manchester City

Manchester City has officially announced the appointment of Enzo Maresca as the head coach of the team. The contract with the 46-year-old Italian specialist is for three years - until the summer of 2029. Maresca replaced Giuseppe Guardiola at the head of the "townsmen", who managed the team for ten years - from the summer of 2016. For the Italian mentor, this is not the first acquaintance with Manchester City. In 2020–2021, he led the club's reserve team, after which he began an independent coaching career. During this time, Maresca worked with Parma, Leicester and Chelsea. The information that Maresca will be Guardiola's successor appeared back in April. After that, the coach held negotiations with Chelsea regarding the early termination of cooperation. Manchester City will start the new season under a new manager who will try to continue the successful era started by Guardiola.
