Aston Villa have no plans to part with one of the team's leaders, Morgan Rodgers, despite serious interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.
As reported by The media, Birmingham set a price tag of 130 million pounds on the 23-year-old winger.
The club are convinced that Rodgers is worth more than his England team-mate Elliott Anderson, who is in the near future for £116m. If someone agrees to pay the asking price for Rodgers, it will be a new transfer record for a British footballer.
According to the source, Rodgers' valuation is also affected by the future resale clause. Middlesbrough, who sold Rodgers in the winter of 2024, are entitled to 20% of the next transfer fee. If sold for 130 million pounds, the club will earn around 26 million.
It is currently unknown whether Arsenal or Chelsea are willing to meet Aston Villa's financial demands or whether they will try to reduce the value of the deal. Rodgers himself is currently at the location of the England national team at the 2026 World Cup, where he is preparing for the 1/16 final match against DR Congo.
The Englishman was one of Aston Villa's key players last season, scoring 14 goals in all competitions and helping the team win the Europa League. He also already has experience in the Champions League, which further strengthens his transfer appeal.
