It's official: Ansu Fati has fully transferred to Monaco

French Ligue 1 club Monaco have completed the transfer of 23-year-old forward Ansu Fati, buying his contract from Barcelona. The deal was worth 9.5 million pounds (about 11 million euros).
The player agreed with Monegasque on a four-year contract that will run until 2030. The club's management decided on a full-time transfer after Fati's impressive performance on loan last year saw him adapt to the Championship and score 12 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions.
The transfer marks the end of Ansu Fati's 15-year relationship with Barcelona. The striker, who was born in Guinea-Bissau and moved to Sevilla as a child, joined the Catalan academy in 2012 at the age of 10. At one time, he was considered the main long-term heir to Lionel Messi.
He quickly burst into the elite, making his first-team debut in 2019 as a 16-year-old and scoring eight goals in his first season. The club showed a lot of faith in him by giving him the prestigious number 10 shirt after Messi's departure in 2021.
In total, Fati leaves the Catalan club with a record of 29 goals in 123 matches played. The progress of one of the most promising players in the world was hindered by a series of unfortunate injuries. It all started with a serious knee injury in November during his second pro season. Since then, a series of relapses and failures prevented him from returning to his star level.
An attempt to resuscitate an English Premier League career on loan at Brighton in 2023 has also been hampered by injuries. Returning to Barça for the 2024-25 season, Fati failed to win a place in the first team under Hansi Flick, leading to his final departure from his hometown club.
Now Ansu Fati, who has ten caps for Spain (including appearances at the 2022 World Cup), has been given a full chance to revive his career and show his potential with Monaco.
