Defender of the national team of Ukraine Oleksandr Zinchenko has officially finished his performances for the Dutch Ajax. The footballer, who joined Amsterdam in February 2026, left the team as a free agent. Along with the Ukrainian, the Dutch great also said goodbye to defender Takehiro Tomiyasu and goalkeeper Vitezslav Jarosz. "We would like to thank Vitezslav, Takehiro and Oleksandr for their dedication and contribution to the club, and wish them every success in the next phase of their careers," the official Ajax press statement said. Zinchenko's transfer to the Eredivisie took place at the beginning of the year. The Amsterdam club bought the player from London Arsenal for 1.5 million euros, signing him on a short-term contract until the end of the current season 2025/26. However, serious health problems prevented the Ukrainian from showing himself in the new team. Zinchenko managed to take part in only two matches, playing a measly 26 minutes on the field. Since February 8, the defender was out of the game due to the subsequent operation, after which he underwent a long recovery process.
