Bournemouth agree deal for Elche striker Alvaro Rodriguez

Bournemouth have reached an agreement with Elche for the transfer of 21-year-old forward Alvaro Rodriguez, as the Cherries continue to strengthen ahead of their historic Europa League campaign. The initial fee is set at £21.4 million, with potential add-ons pushing the total to £25.7 million. Rodriguez is scheduled to undergo his medical on Monday and will sign a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium. Real Madrid, who sold the player to Elche last summer, are entitled to 50 percent of the transfer fee. The Uruguay youth international is also eligible to represent Spain at senior level. In the 2025/26 La Liga season, Rodriguez made 34 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing five assists. His performances helped Elche secure top-flight survival on the final day, sending Girona down to the Segunda División.
