PSG breaks World Cup scoring record: eight different players find the net in 2026

0
Paris Saint-Germain has carved out a unique piece of World Cup history. No club has ever had more different goalscorers in a single edition of the tournament. Following the Round of 16 matches at the 2026 World Cup, the tally of PSG players who scored reached eight. The landmark goal came from former PSG striker Gonçalo Ramos, whose strike decided Portugal’s victory over Croatia in the knockout stage. Before Ramos, the Parisian club was already represented on the scoresheet by Ousmane Dembélé, Bradley Barcola, Nuno Mendes, João Neves, Désiré Doué, Achraf Hakimi and Ibrahim Mbaye — all of whom were at PSG when they joined their national teams. The previous record of seven was held jointly by Barcelona (2018 World Cup) and Bayern Munich (2014). PSG have now surpassed both, underlining the depth of attacking talent at the club. Data provider Opta confirmed the milestone, noting that no other side has ever fielded so many different goal-scorers from the same squad at a single World Cup.
