Scaloni: 'Make Some Tea' After Argentina's Scare Against Cape Verde

0
Argentina survived a massive World Cup upset scare in the Round of 32, needing extra time to see off Cape Verde 2-1. Head coach Lionel Scaloni was visibly relieved after the final whistle and offered some light-hearted advice to the nation. "In the knockout rounds, nobody gives you anything. Every team is equal now – that's what makes the World Cup what it is. My advice to everyone is to go make some tea, calm down. I think I'll do the same after this chat," Scaloni said with a smile. The Argentine boss admitted losing would have been "madness" and stressed that opponents should never be judged by their country's name alone. "Any team that qualifies and competes at this level can cause problems for anyone. We're still alive, and after a win like this, our players can only grow stronger," he added. Argentina's next match is against Egypt in Atlanta on July 7, with a 7:00 p.m. local kickoff.
