Everton complete permanent signing of Chelsea forward Tyrique George for €28m

Everton have turned Tyrique George’s loan into a permanent deal, securing the young winger on a long-term contract after a successful half-season spell. The 20-year-old, who came through Chelsea’s academy, failed to break into the first team at Stamford Bridge and was sent on loan to Goodison Park in January. He made 11 appearances for the Toffees, enough to convince the club’s hierarchy to trigger the purchase option. Both clubs quickly agreed terms: Everton will pay €21 million upfront, with another €7 million in performance-related add-ons. Chelsea also secured a 15% sell-on clause. The player is set to put pen to paper on a multi-year deal in the coming days.
