Kalyuzhnyi signs new Kharkiv deal: 'We aim for the highest'

FC Kharkiv captain Ivan Kalyuzhnyi has put pen to paper on a new contract with the Ukrainian side. The midfielder, a cornerstone of the squad, expressed his delight after finalizing the extension. “The club approached me with this proposal, we agreed on all the terms, and I was happy to sign. I feel great here and I’m really pleased with this development,” Kalyuzhnyi said. The 26-year-old also laid out the team’s ambitions: “Our targets are always high – we want to achieve the best possible results together with Kharkiv. I believe we’ll get there. I won’t look too far ahead to 2030, but I hope that by the end of next season we’ll celebrate reaching the positions we have in mind.” Kharkiv are set to face Swiss side Young Boys in a friendly later today, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00 local time.
