Ismael Bennacer to leave AC Milan as free agent – Romano

AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer will depart the club this summer as a free agent, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano. The 28-year-old Algerian spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Dinamo Zagreb. The Croatian side declined their €10 million purchase option, sending Bennacer back to Italy. Although his contract with the Rossoneri runs until 2027, the club’s hierarchy has decided to release him without a transfer fee, allowing him to negotiate with any team from July. Last season, Bennacer made 19 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing two assists. Earlier reports suggested Dinamo Zagreb might trigger the buy clause with a view to a future sale, but those plans never materialized.
