The preparation of the England national team for the 1/8 final match of the World Cup against Mexico is surrounded by a lot of information noise and uncertainty. However, England head coach Thomas Tuchel urged his players not to lose their heads and focus solely on the game. England's delegation arrived in Mexico City on Friday amid rumors of Sunday's match being kicked off six hours early due to the threat of severe thunderstorms. At the end of the day, FIFA is forever. In addition, the match will be held at the legendary Azteca Stadium, located at an altitude of 2,240 meters above sea level. To minimize the effects of acclimatization, the Football Association of England changed the usual schedule and brought the team to the capital a day earlier. Thomas Tuchel acknowledged that the effect of altitude is noticeable, but he does not see it as a critical problem: "We feel it even if we are not training. I, for example, had a slight headache in the hotel during the day and slept worse than usual. But it can be dealt with. The players felt it in the first minutes of training, and the longer it lasted, the better they adapted. Tomorrow's warm-up will be accompanied by a little shortness of breath. I think it is no coincidence that Mexico starts their home matches so powerfully and aggressively. The first 15-20 minutes will probably be the most difficult for us," Thomas said. Despite the difficult circumstances, the German specialist remains optimistic and notes that there is a working atmosphere within the team: "There is so much noise around, but when you are inside the bubble, everything is quite calm and focused. We cannot influence the height or the home fans - it just is. But we have the spirit, dedication, sheer will and the unifying bond to overcome these obstacles. That is why I am positive," Tuchel stressed. Another potential risk factor could be local fans. The day before, the Ecuador national team, which lost to Mexico, complained to FIFA about night fireworks under the windows of its hotel. Because of this, the British tried to keep their base a secret, and there are currently heightened security measures around the hotel. Tuchel assured that the team feels safe and does not feel discomfort: "We didn't have any problems last night. FIFA took care of the situation, there is security around the hotel, so we expect a good night's sleep. We have a 6pm start, so even if we miss a few hours, we will have time to sleep late in the morning. I don't want to talk about problems that don't exist yet. We treat the opponent and the circumstances of the match with respect, and we expect to be treated with respect as well. The best way to approach this tournament is to be relaxed, calm and focused on yourself," summed up the manager. As a reminder, the battle for the next stage between the national teams of Mexico and England will take place on July 6, the starting whistle will sound at 03:00. Earlier there was information that
