Newcastle Step Up Interest in Manzambi as Freiburg Demand Up to €60m

Newcastle are closely monitoring Freiburg midfielder Johan Manzambi. According to Florian Plettenberg, the Premier League side hold the 20-year-old Swiss international in high regard and have already been informed of the conditions for a potential move. Initially, the German club were willing to let their star leave for €40m. But after Manzambi’s standout performances at the 2026 World Cup, Freiburg have significantly raised their asking price — now hoping to land up to €60m for one of their key men. Formal negotiations between the clubs have yet to begin, but Newcastle aren’t alone in the race. Several other European heavyweights are also tracking the situation closely. Last season, Manzambi made 47 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing six assists.
