Galatasaray puts Dynamo Kyiv's Ponomarenko talks on hold as they chase Jhon Durán
0
Galatasaray have temporarily frozen negotiations with Dynamo Kyiv over the transfer of forward Matviy Ponomarenko, according to Turkish journalist Erol Evjen.
The Istanbul powerhouse first made official contact with the Ukrainian side on June 25, but the discussions are now stalled. The reason? Galatasaray shifted their attention to Al-Nassr striker Jhon Durán.
Evjen reports that the Colombian is open to a move to Turkey, but the clubs are yet to agree on the structure of a deal. Al-Nassr want either a permanent transfer or a loan with a mandatory purchase clause. Galatasaray, on the other hand, are pushing for a straight one-year loan with an option to buy.
Until those talks with Durán reach a conclusion, Ponomarenko's potential move has been pushed to the back burner. Whether Dynamo and Galatasaray revisit the Ukrainian youngster's case will depend on how the Durán saga unfolds.
