Inter Miami targeting Cape Verde hero Vozinha after World Cup heroics
0
Inter Miami are showing serious interest in signing 40-year-old Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha, according to Spanish outlet Marca. The player, whose full name is Josimar José Evora Dias but is universally known as Vozinha, has become a target for David Beckham’s club following his outstanding performances at the 2026 World Cup.
The veteran shot-stopper made headlines during the Round of 32 match against defending champions Argentina. His lightning-fast reflexes and several crucial saves kept Cape Verde in the game, earning him praise from all corners of the football world – including from the Miami ownership.
Vozinha left Portuguese second-tier side Chaves this summer after his contract expired. The majority of his long career has been spent in Portugal and Cyprus, and a move to MLS would represent a fitting final chapter.
Sources close to the goalkeeper indicate he is genuinely excited about the prospect of joining the ambitious project in Florida. Mexican media outlet El Informador has also confirmed the club’s interest. No formal offer has been made yet, but the talks are described as preliminary and serious.
