Sporting Lisbon set to loan Chelsea winger until 2027

Sporting Lisbon have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the loan of young winger Jesse Derry, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano. The deal is a straight loan that will keep the player in Portugal until June 2027. Before heading to Lisbon, Derry signed a new long-term contract with the Blues. The smooth and rapid conclusion of the negotiations was reportedly helped by the excellent working relationship between the two clubs, who have done business before on deals for Giovani Quenda and Dario Essugo. Derry made his Premier League debut last season, starting for Chelsea in matchday 35 against Nottingham Forest. However, he did not complete even a full half before being substituted.
