Ajax confirm Daley Blind return on short-term deal

Ajax have officially announced the signing of veteran defender Daley Blind, with the Dutchman returning to his boyhood club on a contract running until the end of next season. Blind, 36, came through the Ajax academy and amassed 333 appearances for the Amsterdam giants, scoring 13 goals and providing 21 assists across two spells. He spent the last few campaigns with La Liga side Girona, where he made 31 league appearances last term and picked up a single yellow card. The experienced centre-back has already completed his medical and will bolster Ajax’s defensive options for the remainder of the campaign and beyond.
