Chelsea complete signing of Geovani Quenda from Sporting

Chelsea have officially announced the signing of 19-year-old winger Geovani Quenda from Sporting Lisbon. The Portuguese youngster of Guinean descent has put pen to paper on a long-term contract that runs until the summer of 2034. Quenda is widely regarded as one of the most promising young talents in Europe. Last season, he was instrumental in helping Sporting secure a domestic double, winning both the Primeira Liga and the Portuguese Cup. His performances earned him the Primeira Liga Young Player of the Year award for 2025. Over two seasons with Sporting’s first team, Quenda featured regularly and showed impressive versatility, operating effectively both as a winger and a full-back. In his debut campaign, he became the youngest goalscorer in Sporting’s history, finishing the season with 54 appearances across all competitions. He also holds the record as the youngest Portuguese player to score in the UEFA Champions League. Internationally, he represents Portugal at U-21 level. In total, Quenda made 86 appearances for Sporting, scoring 9 goals and providing 17 assists.
