Jorge Jesus Set to Take Over Portugal National Team on Four-Year Deal

Jorge Jesus is on the verge of becoming the next head coach of the Portugal national team. According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, an official announcement regarding the 71-year-old tactician is expected on July 12. Reports indicate that the two sides have agreed on a four-year contract. Jesus will earn around four million euros per year — three times less than what he made at Saudi club Al-Nassr, where he coached, among others, Cristiano Ronaldo. Jesus is set to replace Roberto Martinez, who stepped down after Portugal’s Round of 16 exit at the 2026 World Cup. The Portuguese side fell to Spain 1-0 in that match.
