Girona signs former Real Madrid youth product Ivan Morante, joining Ukrainian contingent

Girona have officially announced the signing of 25-year-old Spanish midfielder Ivan Morante on a free transfer. The deal runs through the summer of 2029, with the player arriving after spending last season at Burgos in Spain’s Segunda División, where he logged 43 appearances, two goals, and three assists. Morante, a product of Real Madrid’s youth academy, never made a senior appearance for Los Blancos. He now becomes the latest addition to a Girona side that was relegated to the second tier at the end of last season. Notably, the Catalan club already boasts four Ukrainian players on its roster, including Nazariy Vanat and Viktor Tsygankov, meaning Morante will share the dressing room with a growing Eastern European presence.
