Kharkiv midfielder Panchenko sidelined 3–4 months after meniscus surgery

0
Kharkiv have been dealt a significant blow ahead of the new Ukrainian Premier League season as midfielder Matviy Panchenko is set to miss the next three to four months due to a meniscus injury. The club’s press service confirmed that the 20-year-old Ukrainian sustained the damage during a preseason training session. He underwent surgery shortly after the diagnosis, and the rehabilitation process is expected to keep him out until late autumn. Panchenko made five senior appearances for Kharkiv last season, registering two assists. He also featured 24 times for the club’s U-19 side, scoring six goals and providing seven assists. His absence will be felt as the team prepares for the new campaign without one of its promising young midfielders.
