Redushko: Universitatea Created Almost Nothing, Sat Deep, But Withstood Our Pressure

Dynamo Kyiv winger Bogdan Redushko shared his thoughts after a frustrating goalless draw against Universitatea Cluj in the first leg of the 2026/27 Europa League first qualifying round. The nominal home match was played at Arena Lublin in Poland due to security concerns. “It’s hard to say why we couldn’t break them down. We kept the pressure on for ninety minutes but lacked the final touch. Defensively we did our job — we didn’t concede. They barely created anything, sat deep the whole game, and held on. We have to be sharper in the final third,” Redushko said. He admitted the result adds pressure: “We wanted to win today. In Romania we’ll go for nothing less than a victory.” Redushko also reflected on his own late chance: “I got the ball from Shaparenko and shot first time. Missed the target — it happens.” The temporary power outage at the stadium also disrupted Dynamo’s rhythm. “We had just picked up the tempo. The blackout killed our momentum and gave them a breather,” he explained. The return leg is set for Thursday, July 16, at Cluj Arena, kicking off at 20:30 local time (EEST).
