AC Milan Strike €30 Million Deal for Lazio's Mario Gila – Real Madrid to Profit

AC Milan have reached a full agreement with Lazio for the transfer of central defender Mario Gila, with the player set to sign a five-year contract at San Siro. The 24-year-old Spaniard is scheduled to undergo his medical over the weekend before putting pen to paper. The transfer fee is €30 million, and notably, Real Madrid – Gila’s former club and youth academy – is entitled to 50 percent of that amount as part of a sell-on clause inserted when he left the Bernabéu. Gila joined Lazio in the summer of 2022 for just €6 million and went on to make 120 appearances in all competitions for the Roman side, scoring twice. His consistent performances attracted interest from several top sides, but Milan moved fastest and outmaneuvered Napoli in negotiations. According to Italian reports, the failed pursuit has frustrated new Napoli head coach Massimiliano Allegri.
