Mbappé becomes second French player to miss a World Cup penalty
0
Kylian Mbappé etched his name into an unwanted slice of World Cup history during France's quarterfinal clash against Morocco at the 2026 tournament.
The French captain saw his spot-kick saved in regulation time, making him only the second player ever to miss a penalty for France in a World Cup match.
The first was Karim Benzema, who failed from the spot back in the 2014 World Cup group stage against Switzerland.
Despite the missed chance, France cruised to a 2-0 victory and booked their place in the semifinals.
