Ayyoub Bouaddi: 'No regrets' over choosing Morocco over France

Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi has made it clear he has no second thoughts about representing the Atlas Lions instead of France. “Of course not. I made my choice, I have no regrets about it. I am proud to represent Morocco,” the 18-year-old told journalist Fabrizio Romano. Bouaddi previously featured for France’s youth and U21 sides but never broke into the senior setup. He switched allegiance to Morocco and went on to play five matches at the 2026 World Cup, without registering a goal or assist. Morocco’s tournament ended in the quarter-finals after a 2-0 defeat, but Bouaddi insists he stands by his decision.
