Burnley appoint Nicky Hayen: Belgian champion signs three-year deal

Burnley have officially named Nicky Hayen as their new head coach. The 45-year-old Belgian has signed a three-year contract and will take charge at Turf Moor this summer. Hayen most recently managed Genk, but his greatest success came at Club Brugge, where he won the Belgian Pro League title in 2023/24. The following season, he led the club to the Champions League round of 16. He also lifted the Belgian Cup and Super Cup, and was voted Belgian Coach of the Year in 2024. Before moving into coaching, Hayen played as a defender, amassing over 400 appearances in Belgium and the Netherlands. Burnley are confident his winning pedigree can guide them back to the Premier League after relegation last term.
