Manchester United Set Sights on Paraguay's World Cup Star

0
English giants are circling 26-year-old Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Gill after his standout displays at the 2026 World Cup. According to the Manchester Evening News, Red Devils boss Michael Carrick has personally pushed for the signing, seeing Gill as genuine competition for current number one Senne Lammens at Old Trafford. Gill emerged as one of the tournament's revelations, earning back-to-back Man of the Match awards. First came a heroic display against Germany, where he saved two penalties, followed by another masterclass against France, leaving even Didier Deschamps' side frustrated. Currently at Argentine side San Lorenzo, Gill carries a release clause of just £5.2 million — a bargain by Premier League standards. While Manchester United lead the chase, Aston Villa have also registered serious interest and are ready to battle for the Paraguayan's signature.
