Yann Sommer chooses Club Brugge: Swiss keeper leaves Inter on a free

0
Veteran Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer has finalized a move to Belgian side Club Brugge, with the transfer fully agreed according to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano. Sommer joins on a free transfer after deciding not to extend his stay at Inter Milan. Last season he played 44 matches across all competitions for the Nerazzurri, helping them secure the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia. The 35-year-old turned down offers from clubs in Italy, Spain, and England. Sources close to the deal say the deciding factors were the promise of being the undisputed No. 1 and Belgium’s proximity to his native Switzerland. Sommer is set to sign a long-term contract with Club Brugge, where he will compete for the starting goalkeeper role.
