Sheffield United Eye Everton Legend Coleman – Retirement and Coaching Role Also on Table
0
Seamus Coleman, a fixture at Everton for nearly two decades, is being tracked by Championship side Sheffield United. According to the Sheffield Star, the Blades have already reached out to the 37-year-old Irishman to sound out a potential move south of the Premier League.
But Coleman is keeping his options open. The defender is weighing up several paths, one being retirement from playing altogether. If he hangs up his boots, there’s a strong chance he returns to Everton – not as a player, but as part of the coaching setup.
Coleman started his professional career at Sligo Rovers before signing for Everton in 2009. Over 17 seasons at Goodison Park, he made 435 appearances, scored 28 goals, and registered 29 assists. His leadership and experience could be valuable whether on the pitch in the Championship or on the touchline back at Everton.
