Zubkov scores in debut for AEK – first goal in Greece

Oleksandr Zubkov wasted no time making his mark. The Ukrainian winger found the net in his very first appearance for AEK Athens, scoring in a friendly against Dutch side De Graafschap. The 28-year-old struck as AEK won 2-1 in their opening game of the summer training camp. It was a low-key start, but an important one for a player still settling into his new surroundings. Zubkov joined the Greek champions this summer after a year and a half at Trabzonspor. Media reports put the transfer fee at around €4 million. During his time in Turkey, the winger racked up 57 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists. In the 2025/26 season, he helped Trabzonspor secure a bronze finish in the Süper Lig and lift the Turkish Cup.
