Tottenham's Luka Vuskovic Set for Brighton Medical After €53m Deal Agreed

Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of selling teenage defender Luka Vuskovic to Brighton & Hove Albion, with the 19-year-old scheduled for a medical today. The north London club originally signed Vuskovic from Hajduk Split last summer for €11m, immediately loaning him to Hamburg for €1m. The Croatian centre-back enjoyed a standout season in the Bundesliga, scoring six goals and providing one assist in 30 appearances — numbers that made him one of the highest-rated defenders in the German top flight. Hamburg had no option to buy, so Vuskovic returned to Tottenham. But by then, Spurs had already completed the €60m signing of Dutch international Jan-Paul van Hecke from Brighton for the same position. That move effectively blocked Vuskovic's path to regular first-team football. His representatives quickly pivoted, offering the player to Brighton. Negotiations concluded with a deal worth €53m upfront, plus €5m in performance-related bonuses and a 20% sell-on clause. Vuskovic is undergoing his medical at Brighton today, and an official announcement is expected shortly after.
