Chelsea Close in on Diogo Costa with €60m Release Clause Plan

Chelsea are pushing hard to sign Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa and could wrap up a deal this summer. According to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, the Blues are prepared to trigger the release clause written into the 26-year-old Portuguese international’s contract. The buyout figure stands at €60 million. Chelsea have moved ahead of Paris Saint-Germain in the race for the shot-stopper and are now preparing the formal steps to finalize the transfer. A product of Porto’s academy, Costa has been with the senior side since 2019. In the 2025/26 season, he made 49 appearances across all competitions, conceding just 25 goals and keeping 24 clean sheets.
