Barcelona set deadline for Julián Álvarez offer – Laporta speaks out

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed the club submitted a formal bid for Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez, but warned that the offer won’t stay open indefinitely. Speaking to the media, Laporta revealed he personally spoke with Atlético’s sporting director Miguel Ángel Gil to clear up any misunderstanding about the initial proposal. “We talked with total respect, as we always do. I clarified some points for him personally. After that, we didn’t pressure either the club or the player. We simply told them: if they find an alternative for that position, our offer remains valid,” Laporta explained. The Barcelona chief stressed that patience has limits. “Our first bid is still on the table, but it doesn’t have an unlimited validity period. We’ll decide on that soon,” he added. Álvarez is already aware of Barcelona’s interest, and the next few days could be decisive in resolving the transfer saga.
