Cagliari close to loan deal for Atalanta’s Daniel Maldini

Atalanta winger Daniel Maldini could be on the move again this summer. According to transfer insider Nicolo Schira, Cagliari have entered talks with the Bergamo club over a temporary move for the 24-year-old Italian. The proposed deal is a one-year loan with a mandatory purchase option, Schira reports. Once the loan expires, Maldini is expected to sign a permanent contract structured as 1+4 — one guaranteed season plus a four-year extension clause. Maldini spent the second half of last season at Lazio, where he made 25 appearances, scoring twice and adding three assists. Now he looks set for a new challenge in Sardinia.
