Pedro Porro: Spain Fear No One, France Are Not Favorites in World Cup Semifinal

Tottenham and Spain right-back Pedro Porro has shared his thoughts ahead of the 2026 World Cup semifinal against France, insisting his side are full of belief. Porro acknowledged the quality of the opponent but made it clear Spain are not intimidated. “We have to be 200 percent focused and hope France don’t have their best game. We know they have strong players, especially in attack, and they’ve had a great World Cup. But so have we. We’re not afraid of them. If you ask them, they’ll say they’re not afraid of Spain either,” Porro said. The defender stressed that in a match of this magnitude, fine margins and concentration will be decisive – not which team is labeled the favorite. “Everything will come down to details and concentration. You have to be aware of the threat they pose, but at the same time stick to your own game. I don’t think they can be considered the favorites. Either way, we’re confident in ourselves. What people say outside our group doesn’t bother us too much,” he added. The winner of this semifinal will face Argentina or England in the final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It was previously announced that Salvadoran referee Barton will officiate the France–Spain clash.
