Lazio Make First Summer Signing: Danilho Doekhi Joins on Free Transfer

Lazio have officially announced the signing of Danilho Doekhi, with the 28-year-old defender putting pen to paper on a contract that runs until the summer of 2029. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the move comes as a free transfer following the expiration of Doekhi's contract with Union Berlin. The Dutchman spent three seasons with the Bundesliga side, becoming a mainstay in their backline. During the 2025/26 campaign, he featured in 37 matches across all competitions, netting six goals and providing one assist. Doekhi will now link up with his new teammates in pre-season training under new Lazio head coach Gennaro Gattuso. The Roman club is currently preparing for the upcoming season, and the centre-back is expected to integrate quickly into Gattuso's system.
