Sébastien Migné leaves Haiti post after historic World Cup run

0
The Haitian Football Federation has confirmed the departure of head coach Sébastien Migné by mutual consent, bringing an end to a tenure that saw the nation return to the World Cup for the first time in over five decades. The 53-year-old Frenchman took charge of the national team in 2024 and masterminded a historic qualification campaign. Haiti booked their ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup — their first appearance since 1974, snapping a 52-year drought. The achievement cemented Migné’s place in the country’s football history. In an official statement, the federation thanked Migné for his “professionalism, commitment and dedication,” stressing that the decision was reached in a spirit of mutual respect, allowing both sides to move forward. At this year’s World Cup, Haiti failed to advance beyond the group stage, finishing bottom of Group C with three defeats. They lost 1–0 to Scotland, 3–0 to Brazil, and another match.
