Harry Kane won't rule out 2026 World Cup being his last – cites Messi as inspiration

0
England captain Harry Kane isn't ready to say whether the 2026 World Cup will be his final tournament in an England shirt. The 32-year-old Bayern Munich striker pointed to Lionel Messi as proof that age doesn't have to mean the end. “It's too early to talk about that. But look at Messi. He's 39 and still performing at the highest level. Playing for England is my pride and joy. It's what I love doing most in the world,” Kane said after a match. At the 2026 World Cup, Kane has played seven games, scoring six goals and adding one assist. This is his third World Cup appearance – he previously represented the Three Lions in Russia in 2018 and in Qatar in 2022.
