Ferran Torres Faces PSG Bench Role as Barcelona Push for Sale

Barcelona are stepping up efforts to move Ferran Torres this summer, with the Spanish forward’s contract entering its final year. The Catalans are looking for a decent fee, but leading suitor Paris Saint-Germain has so far been reluctant to meet their demands. Nevertheless, the reigning Champions League winners are holding talks with the player’s camp. Torres’ representatives have been told he would be viewed as a backup for Gonçalo Ramos — a rotation piece who would get regular minutes off the bench rather than a guaranteed starter. Barcelona boss Hansi Flick, however, still sees Torres as a viable option for his first XI. Whether that will be enough to convince the club’s hierarchy to keep the 26-year-old remains to be seen.
