Szoboszlai on verge of new Liverpool deal with salary doubling to £250k per week

0
Dominik Szoboszlai has agreed to the core terms of a new long-term contract with Liverpool, moving the Hungary international closer to a deal that would cement his future at Anfield and make him one of the club's highest earners. Talks between Reds sporting director Richard Hughes and the 25-year-old's camp stretched over several months and are now nearing a successful conclusion. Szoboszlai's current deal runs until 2028, but the new agreement is set to extend through 2030 or even 2031. The financial upgrade is significant: his weekly wage will jump from £120,000 to £250,000, effectively doubling his current take-home pay. Liverpool signed Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 for £60 million, and he has since become an indispensable figure in midfield. In the 2025/26 campaign, the Hungarian made 53 appearances across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and adding 12 assists. Once the contract is officially signed, Szoboszlai is also expected to be named one of the club's vice-captains.
