The final match of the 2026 World Cup between the national teams will be officiated by Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic, FIFA announced. The assistants of the 46-year-old referee will be his compatriots Tomaž Klanchnik and Andraj Kovačych. Adham Mahadmeh from Jordan will act as the reserve referee, and Mohammad Al-Kalaf will be his assistant. Vincic is one of the most authoritative European referees. A FIFA international referee since 2010, he has officiated at Euro 2020, the 2022 Europa League final and the 2024 Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid. At the 2026 World Cup, the Slovenian has already refereed three matches: the group stage matches between Brazil and Morocco (1:1) and Jordan and Algeria (1:2), as well as the round of 16 match between Mexico and Ecuador (2:0), in which he showed a red card to Piero Incapier. The World Cup final will be held on July 19 at the Met-Life stadium in East Rutherford. Before the start of the game, a large-scale closing ceremony of the tournament with the participation of world stars of show business is planned.
